/> WAYNE: Wayne Pickstone

WEST: Okay, folks. I’m here with Wayne Pickstone. Now, Wayne dazzled us yesterday at the Lifestyle Summit. We’re actually here at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast. And he was talking… he really impressed the audience with some of the facts and figures, some statistic on health and some of the things you can do to really, really improve your health without, you know, taking too drastic actions and so many other useful little things.

So I want you to give us like a twenty-second—how about a pitch on what you do and what people come to see you for. And we can go from there.

WAYNE: Okay. Yesterday, my talk was about the blueprint you can use to actually increase a person’s trading ability by using health as a basis. Now, a lot of people look for wealth. A lot of people—that is their driving force. And we can all understand that because we have bills to pay, we have things to do, we have children to support, whatever the main drive be. It might be to build a charity or to actually give back. The thing that we forget is about our health. The problem today, statistically, is our health is undermined every day. Everyone knows that the healthcare system is falling over. But unfortunately what happens as a collective— so if I asked you, as a collective, collective thought process: Is society pessimistic or optimistic? What would you say?

WEST: Pessimistic.

WAYNE: Is society responsible or irresponsible?

WEST: Irresponsible.

WAYNE: Is society healthy or unhealthy?

WEST: Very unhealthy.

WAYNE: So statistically, we know collectively that we are pessimistically irresponsible and unhealthy. However, we don’t look at the health side of things in the way that actually allows us to be better at our wealth and abundance and creating affluence. So just…

WEST: Because a lot of people miss that link, don’t they?

WAYNE: Totally.

WEST: And it’s not just traders. I mean, anyone who, you know, wants to improve and who wants to be mentally, you know, have that acuity to be able to think clearly under stressful situations in order to help them create wealth or create anything in their life.

WAYNE: Yeah. See, if for example, one tip that I could really, really help anyone no matter what—even relationships—in terms of… Well, I think the three things that allow us to have freedom in our hearts, allow us to be the way we want to in life, three things that’s important:
1)	Wealth.
2)	Relationships.
3)	Health.

Now which one of those is more important than the others?

WEST: Well, you can’t have the others without health, can you?

WAYNE: Totally. Totally.

WEST: And I fully agree with that because, I mean, I worked in cardiac rehab for awhile and I’m an exercise physiologist and I see all these high-powered business people, these executives who are earning hundreds of thousands of dollars a year but they’re in a hospital having bypasses. And I’m sitting there, thinking, you know, ‘You can pay me a billion dollars and it’s not worth it.’ So…

WAYNE: That’s right. And we get celebrities, we get people from all over the world coming to see us. We use phone, we use Skype. They don’t have to come see us. We use all these…because technology today, you can just do so much. And they all say exactly what you’ve kind of alluded to there was that, “What’s the use of having this wealth if I’m on cardiac support and I can’t be there for my family. I can’t even be there for myself.”

So if you wish to really take your health, wealth, and relationships to another level… for example, if the body is acidic, if the tissues of the body is acidic, what happens now is the whole—the digestive system, the liver, especially those two what we classify in ancient medicine as filters, if those two filters are acidic—what happens now is the body produces hormones that actually allow you to become colic, allow you to be a little bit anxious. So say, for example, yes we’re speaking specifically about trading. So here, these people going to their trading platform and if they just had a whole lot of cereal and Coke and Pepsi—some people have this stuff for breakfast—but even coffee…

WEST: Optimal trading food.

WAYNE: Yeah. And toast. And most people will take the Coke or Pepsi but will have some cereal and toast but maybe some coffee—all acidic food.

WEST: And it just sounds like a normal breakfast, you know, for these guys.

WAYNE: Eighty to ninety percent of people. That’s what they do. And what happens now is they’re going to their ‘wealth’ platform being acidic. They’re sending a message to their brain that they’re anxious, melancholic, and they don’t want to do this, sitting there going, “How am I going to try…?”

WEST: Yeah, the market’s hard enough to make money and they just make it harder on themselves, don’t they?

WAYNE: Yeah. And that’s with anything. And that’s the key: it’s with anything. Even if you’re going to talk to your partner, if you’re acidic, you’ll actually end up locking horns. If you go into a business meeting, you’re acidic, unfortunately, the outcome may be totally different because of being acidic. And this goes for anything.

And there are simple things that you can do to actually make the body alkaline. But the key is not to think that just because you’ve done one test, your alkaline and that’s it. Every day or every second day, it’s like exercise; being an exercise physiologist, if someone does exercise once, it don’t work.

Same with being alkaline.

WEST: It doesn’t. It’s a cumulative effect. And one that we, as exercise physiologists, you know, wish that you implement long-term permanently into your life. And I’m sure you have a similar philosophy running where plenty of these people need to be practicing, you know, the things that you teach them forever.

WAYNE: Yeah.

WEST: So, they can then expect the results that research has shown.

WAYNE: Yeah. And the unfortunate part out of them—it’s no fault of anyone—and I’ve said this in front of wellness professionals—from medical specialists to medical doctors, naturopaths, acupuncturists, exercise physiologists—unfortunately, something is wrong with their message. If you go to a lot of these people, unfortunately, they look unhealthier than the person going in.

WEST: I can definitely vouch for that.

WAYNE: So I actually say to them face to face, in front of an audience, up on the main stage, saying to them, eighty percent of health advisors are not living their own message!

WEST: That’s just the way to build crowd rapport, by the way.

WAYNE: Oh it is, yeah. But I get them off their butts. They now start looking at themselves because, you know, your self, what happens is if you, no matter… What does a plumber have a problem with? Their own plumbing in their house. And what does a carpenter have a problem with?

WEST: It’s funny, isn’t it?

WAYNE: Yeah, so health professionals have a problem with their health because…

WEST: It’s funny I’ve seen it a lot, you know.

WAYNE: You too? Right or right?

WEST: Absolutely. You go to a doctor and he’s got his belly, you know, he’s sitting over there at the table and you’re thinking, ‘Sorry, you’re giving me advice on exercise?’ And it’s…

WAYNE: Yeah.

WEST: So you have a kind of system wherein that teaches and coaches people and mentors people through the process of getting to look at a healthy state. Is that correct?

WAYNE: I suppose the uniqueness about what we do is, one, is I’m—I guess—a wellness professional. I’m a traditional Chinese medical practitioner of ayurvedic medicine from India. I’m a fully-qualified on naturopath therapy and whole lot of other therapies.

WEST: So it sounds like you’ve taken kind of the best of what you learned from each of these disciplines and kind of melded them into your own meshed-up formula for the world.

WAYNE: Yeah, but with ancient knowledge. So twenty five years ago… I’ll start this way:
Is it fair to say that twenty five years ago, I was very skeptical about it, to be honest. But I persevered because I knew there had to be truth because health is the only thing that gives us what we want. That was my truth. So twenty five years ago, I read an article about a health topic. I go to another magazine and read the same topic and it was totally contradictory. So the skepticism, I can totally understand out there. So here I am going, “I want to get into this industry but I’m an open-minded individual at least. I’m not closed-minded.”

So what I did then is I said, “There must be truth.” And actually, in ancient medicine, going back two thousand years has the truth, always has had the truth, always will have the truth from now and the future. So what that did for me, it just cemented a path. And what I found in twenty years of professional practice is that everything that they have said through time has been actually proven. And Western medicine is now proving everything. You know how long ago they’ve actually proven this model that I actually go through? Five years.

WEST: Wow.

WAYNE: Western medicine has only proven it in the last five years yet ancient medicine has said the same thing for two thousand years. So I’m a wealth coach, I’m a business coach, I’m a life coach and as well as a wellness professional. So we can take someone from the health side of things and they can go into the businesses and…

I’m also…

WEST: You understand all that … and what they’re trying to do. You’re not just someone who’s studied, you know, this part/path and just has a very compartmentalized approach as what a lot of people do.

WAYNE: Yeah. And as you know, last year, I won the Market of the Year in an elite group of professional marketers.

WEST: Very elite.

WAYNE: Very elite, yes. So we do marketing, we do all these things for business if that’s what they wish to do. So it’s taking a concept but then going further and actually helping people, ‘coz I think—that’s why you’re doing this as well, I’m sure—the main reason is to help, is to give back. And that’s’ why we’re here. That’s why I’m here.

WEST: So what would be the main question that when people come to you, Wayne, that you encounter with regards to someone trying to build wealth but then trying to get themselves in it in a grave state

WAYNE: It all comes back to that acid-alkaline. But it all comes back to oxygenation. You’re an exercise physiologist, you know that a lot of the exercises being done out there is unfortunately wrong, you know. Walking for thirty minutes is great. But if you’re coming back and you’re not actually breathing deeply, it doesn’t do anything for you. You’ve got to get into oxygen debt. Lung cancer is a serious disease. The inability to attract effluents/effluences occurs because most people live in an unfortunate fermentation of getting energy. They don’t live in an oxygenation process of getting energy. So we’ve got to get into exercising before breakfast because that helps your adrenal hormones to actually suppress any stress hormones that’s being released.

WEST: That’s great

WAYNE: Yeah. So that’s one tip. The other tip then would be alkalinity. Now get some pH strips from from your chemist. Basically then dip your urine and saliva, around about two hours after breakfast ‘til lunch, find out how your acidity is. If you are acidic, a simple technique, and it’s just using a lemon and water. And you do that as soon as you wake up, before you go to bed at least.

Now the thing with lemon and water, if you are acidic, what you need to do then is just grab your glass of water and wash your mouth out because it can affect the enamel of our teeth. And then from there, there are two great things that you can do. So personally, like traders or anyone who is looking at the market, what I do—which is written into my trading system—is I make sure I’m alkaline before I even look at the platform, before I even look at what I do, before I even go and see my first client. A simple technique.

WEST: So your trading actually starts many hours before you actually hit the button ‘trade’.

WAYNE: True. So it’s the exercise, it’s the stretching, it’s the mediation, it’s the alkalizing. Royal Pines resort, they’re/we’re looking at the first— [crosstalk]

WEST: We are.

WAYNE: You got a great round yesterday, too.

WEST: We’re going to talk about a triple bogey…

WAYNE: Nah. No. That one’s there, yeah. But triple bogey and getting a seventy eight, I’m still quite happy

WEST: That was very impressive. I’ll take that!

So if someone wants to learn or even take your system, you know, they even might not be sitting here in Brisbane or somewhere in Australia and they’re really connecting with what you’re saying and would want to really take things forward with you, what kind of things can they do? Do you have a site or do you have a cost or do you have some sort of place where people can go to learn more about your philosophies?

WAYNE: Yeah. And the fantastic part about what is unique with us—before we just connect to that—the fantastic part that is unique to us is we’ve got people from all around the world, including Europe and Ireland. We’ve got people through America. Because what we’re able to do is they can do their—what we call—their ‘blood chemistries’ at home and then they send the information to us. And then we use the Skype or phone to actually then analyze—and I’ve got people who I’ve never seen and yet they are a thousand percent better than what they began with.

WEST: That’s cool.

WAYNE: Really incredible, yes. So it doesn’t matter where you are. We can actually change that whole paradigm for people, yeah.

WEST: Awesome.

WAYNE: So from there, if people want to take it any further, if you go to WellbeingSecretsExposed.com, what I’ve got there is over $300 worth of free gifts that you can actually download. All you’ve got to do is put your email and name—the first name and email address—and then from there they’ll get over $300 worth of free gifts

WEST: For sure. You know, I think Wayne shed some really cool secrets just in this little short interview. You shed a lot more yesterday during the presentation. And I’m sure there’s actually a time where—on the side—where I’m probably going to go home and check out myself once I get home.

So Wayne, I want to thank you for your time for chatting with us today. And I hope the listeners got something from it. And yeah… Thank you.

WAYNE: Thank you very much. It’s been a pleasure. Cheers.

<div

Don’t get me wrong – I don’t see Tony as a ‘motivator’ – he has helped me improve all aspects of my life ever since I started to listening to him on audio a few years ago. It became a life goal of mine to go see him live, and when an opportunity came up I bit the dust and threw a few thousand $$ on the table for a front row seat.

The first day included the FIREWALK. But here’s the thing – it’s not really about the firewalk. The firewalk is irrelevant. It represents a metaphor – getting into such a peak state that any obstacle in front of you doesn’t exist. If you’ve ever played sport at a high level or done anything where you’ve been totally in the zone, this would compare to the state Tony helps put you in before the walk.

As we stormed out clapping in unison, chanting ‘YES, YES’ the whole crowd bonded and there was an atmosphere that I’ll never forget. Most of us had been totally starved for the whole day by now (Tony hadn’t given any breaks for 8 hours straight) dehydrated, emotionally smashed and beat up and many still coming to terms with potential ending up with severe burns on their feet…. but everyone was so revved up and the collective energy was a rare occurence that I might only have felt on the most memorable of New Years celebrations when the clock struck midnight.

By my calculations by nights end over 99% of the 5000 had done the walk, many 2 or 3 times. I saw elderly women aged 70+ do it and I also saw 10 and 11 year olds choose to conquer their inner demons. It was a liberating experience. Hell, after walking on fire, making a few bucks online doesn’t seem so daunting anymore.

So I just wanted to summarise the major things I got out of the workshop over the next few days. If you’ve listened to any of Tony’s programs before, the content would not be new. I had, but hearing Tony live is truly something I believe every human being who even has a moderate interest in improving themselves must experience. I believe he is one of the rare human beings who has even come close to realising his potential and fulfilled his calling here on earth.

I won’t regurgitate the content of the seminar as such – get any of Tony’s products and you can get a taste for how powerful the information is if you apply it. But I would like to comment on a few other things of note:

- I went to the seminar to create some powerful anchors and neuro associations to help me snap into a peak state when I need to. The trouble was, when I was trying to do this at home, I would always be worried about making too much noise or looking like an idiot to not only others but myself. There’s something about an immersive experience that cuts all those ties and lets you play the game full out. i create 5 POWER anchors – unique movements or gestures that i’ve linked to certain emotions.

Trying them out this week, it was quite freaky. For example when i squeeze my right hand into a fist my breathing rate increases automatically and I get a rush of adrenaline that just shoots me into state.

- I also went to gain better control of my emotions, and experience a richer interpretation of certain positive emotions. It’s quite sad that most people (including myself) go through life – supressing certain emotions or only feeling small doses of emotions. think about it – life lived to its fullest shouldn’t be toned down, should it? It didn’t disappoint. I laughed until I cried, I jumped up and down in pure joy, I cried and at one point I almost threw up I felt so sick (this was on purpose – Tony made us associate massive pain to limiting beliefs we had).

Try and imagine what 5000 people going through the same process feels like. Powerful stuff.

- Another massive aha moment was this. People work their entire lives dedicated to making money. They sacrifice family, leisure time and their health just to make money. Why do people want money? To buy things, for freedom, to give to other people. Why do people want these things? Because of the FEELING or EMOTION they’ll get after achieving it NOT FOR THE THING ITSELF. People don’t really want pieces of paper with deceased notables on it.

They want the feeling they can get by trading those pieces of paper. Now get this – those feelings you desire ALREADY EXIST inside of you. All you need to do – is transport yourself back to a time when you felt that and re-live the emotion all over again. How about going into the future and experiencing, VIVIDLY that you had already attained what you desire. Feel like you would feel, move like you’d love, breathe like you’d breath – make it vivid enough and you WILL experience the emotions….without spending another cent! How cool is that!

- Finally, on health day, Tony shed some really interesting facts which has led to some positive lifestyle changes for me. He was talking about disease, and also gaining exponentially more energy to power through your day. I had heard conflicting reports about Tony’s philosophies, but in all seriousness the proof in the pudding is Tony’s own energy levels. ANYONE who can go from 9 in the morning till 1am on stage and not lose an iota of energy has more than enough credibility – that alone made me all ears. I speak on stage myself and after about two hours I find I am emotionally and physically starting to wain.

People’s bodies and lifestyles are generally way too acidic. Acid producing foods consume us and it leads to lethargy, disease and a shortened life. What we need is to ALKALISE the body more regularly. Major acidic foods include dairy and meats. Toxins like alcohol, caffeine, sugar, drugs and smoking are obviously highly poisonous and put the body in a distressed state. Major alkalising foods include fruits and vegetables, wheat grass, lemon in water and foods that have high water content. We also need to supplement with omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids as our cell walls are made of fats and most are deficient.

Two more key things I implemented was to purchase a rebounder (mini trampoline) – and spend 5 minutes a day to stimulate the circulation of our lymphatic system which for most people is drastically understimulated, and finally retraining myself for deep, lower lung diaphragmatic breathing instead of chest and shoulder breaths like almost everybody does. The way to do this is make sure your belly really distends instead of your shoulder and chest rising. this ensures oxygen gets to your WHOLE lung and not just the top 1/3rd!!! Oxygen is THE most important requirement for your body, a few minutes without it and you’re dead. Don’t deprive yourself.

So there you have it, my major learnings and reflections.

I hope you can take away at least one learning and apply it into your life!

Cheers to your wealth and health!

West

Ps I’ll leave you with a video I shot of Tony getting 5000 people into a powerful, energetic state! Enjoy!

<object

What unimportant things can you replace with more important activities? Fill in the chart below realistically, replacing those unimportant things with something small and easy that, over a period of time, will make a difference in your life. Create a new, more valuable schedule for your average day—one that invests your time wisely. It doesn’t have to be hard and the changes don’t have to be huge. Don’t make this into a big production or make it so difficult that you can’t do it. Keep it easy.

For instance, you don’t have to join a health club and pay lots of money and be locked into a schedule to improve your health, but you might want to walk around the neighborhood every night after dinner. You don’t have to quit your job to spend more time with your kids, but maybe you could watch less TV. You don’t have to go back to college full time to become better educated, but you might want to read a book instead of stopping off after work for a couple of beers.

And get creative when you’re doing this! Think it through. If your time is so valuable—and it is because once it’s gone, it’s gone, and you can never get it back—then why not combine some of those valuable activities to increase your personal value and succeed in life? Why not walk around the neighborhood every night after dinner with your kids and talk to them? Work on health and family at once!

Remember, time is more valuable than money. How you’re investing your time is even more important than how you’re investing your money. Spend it wisely.
<div

Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life – In a society where people blame everything from their parents to the government for failure, those who don’t buy into this mentality or succumb to the “victim” thinking succeed. To blame something or somebody outside yourself is saying they have control of your life and not you. Someone else’s opinion of you doesn’t have to become your reality.

2. Live Your Life On Purpose – What separates motivational thinkers from the unsuccessful is that they believe they’re doing what they were put here to do. The difference between this and just living, is that the latter is just getting through the week with the least problems. But when you live your life on purpose, your main concern is doing the job right. For the entrepreneur this means finding a cause you believe in and building your business around it.

3. Be Willing to Pay the Price – Be willing to pay the price for your dreams. Wanting a big house, a luxury car, and a million dollars in the bank is all very nice, and everyone wants these things – but are you willing to pay the price to get them? This is one of the major differences between the successful and unsuccessful.

4. Stay Focused – Every day we’re bombarded with hundreds of tasks, phone calls, messages, and everyone competing for our time. Focusing requires giving up something in the present because you are investing your time in something that will pay off big-time down the road. Jack Canfield and Mark Hanson were turned down by 30 publishers when they submitted the first “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book. Instead of giving up, they stayed focused on their goal and did four or five interviews per day for radio, TV, and newspapers, for five days a week for a whole year. Eventually, a small publisher decided to take a chance, and of course now it’s a best-seller that spawned an entire series that have sold more than 10 million copies.

5. Become An Expert in Your Field – One striking factor all successful people have in common is how seriously they take their profession. They strive to be the best at what they do, and do almost anything to improve. If someone followed you around all day with a video camera at your business, would it be a tape you’d be proud of or embarrassed about? Make the decision today to work at being the best in your field. How? By finding out what the “best” in your field are doing, and do what they do.

6. Write Out a Plan for Achieving Your Goals – Write out an action plan/map for how you’re going to achieve your goals. Trying to reach your goals without a plan is like trying to drive from Los Angeles to Chicago without a map. A goal that isn’t written down is merely a wish or fantasy.

7. Never Give Up – Never, never, never give up. When you’re fully committed to achieving your goal, giving up is not an option. You must be willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. The power of perseverance is an awesome force. As someone once said, “inch by inch it’s a cinch”. Think of the lowly inchworm – if it pondered the length of the trip from start to finish before it started, it probably would never move. To a worm’s point-of-view, the garden path must look like a trip to Mars. Never give up! Keep on going like the Eveready battery bunny, and pretty soon you’re there.

8. Don’t Delay – Nobody knows how much time they have left to accomplish their dreams, and we must remember that we don’t have forever. The clock is ticking, and sooner or later your number comes up and you’re gone. Successful achievers know this too, but they don’t view it as a “negative”. Achievers use it to “spur them on”. They go after what they want as energetically and as passionately as possible, for as long as they have.
<div

Or if not, you pretty soon will be! Because we humans like our comforts don’t we? We live in nice homes that we fill with cozy furniture and surround ourselves with things and people that we feel at ease with.

This week’s Post is all about being comfortable or, more particularly, your comfort zone, how it limits you and how you can break out of it.

There are two types of comfort – physical, where we want to experience wellbeing, and emotional where we just feel right about or simply accept what we are doing.

In the second type, some people – not us of course – are actually only comfy being miserable, moaning about life or complaining about their health. You know them, don’t you? Even uncomfortable clothing can be comfortable if it gives us an emotional check mark that we are conforming to fashion.

It’s the same with work or business projects: we get settled into a job and a particular way of doing things. We know the people we like to work with and avoid those we don’t.

We stick with it because it becomes our comfort zone – the set of things we are prepared to do without becoming anxious – inhabiting an area where it seems there’s no sense of risk.

And, as I’ve suggested, it doesn’t even have to be nice in there – plenty of people wallow in comfort zones of poverty, inadequacy and misfortune, with no apparent desire to get out.

All these things confirm our way of seeing the world. They’re really just a variation of ‘habit’ – things that we do repeatedly till they become the norm and we are stuck in a rut performing them – and they are nearly always way below what we are capable of achieving.

We opt for a totally unfounded sense of security, a form of mental conditioning that leads to stagnation and boredom. But we feel safe. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that even when great, positive things happen outside the realm of what makes us feel OK, we somehow sense that it’s not quite right – it becomes uncomfortable at an unconscious level, if you like, and we yearn to get back to the ‘old ways’.

People even have different levels of comfort when dealing with money. If they are used to a certain level of income any additional earnings may simply have to be disposed of through unnecessary purchases in order to stay in the zone.

Studies suggest, for example, that the vast majority of people who unexpectedly come into big money – such as from winning the lottery – are actually ill at ease with their new found wealth.

On the surface, they may tell you they’re over the moon but it’s surprising how many of them then devote their energy to what seems to be almost a frantic effort to get rid of their money and, as the Beatles would say, ‘get back to where you once belonged.’ And most of them succeed too, losing their money and personal relationships along the way!

The comfort zone is the norm and most people live there every day.

It’s as if we are linked by a giant piece of elastic that pins us near the centre of a comfort circle. As we get nearer and nearer to the edge of that circle – the boundary of our comfort zone – the more powerful is the ‘pull’ that holds us back.

The truth is that our unconscious, instinctive behavior is to maintain our comfort zone. What lies beyond though is a fantastic world of change and opportunity. But we need to make a conscious effort to escape.

If you’re reading this, chances are that pretty well all of the things you want to achieve in life lie outside of these boundaries, don’t they?

For, no truly great people live permanently inside the comfort zone. If they find themselves in it, they pretty quickly move out. Indeed, there are some who almost relish being in unfamiliar territory.

Competitive athletes are a prime example of people who push themselves by sheer force of will beyond their existing comfort zone to achieve success. They are prepared to travel through the pain barrier for the benefits of what is on the other side.

And, guess what. One they’ve gone beyond their previous boundaries they find themselves in territory which, after a while, feels just as comfortable as their previous zone. So they push themselves forward again.

It’s the same thing that motivates explorers – past and present – astronauts and entrepreneurs. They provide powerful examples that can help us identify our own comfort zones and teach us how to break through to new and exciting areas of growth and prosperity where we will feel truly at home. Invariably, that’s what successful people have done to achieve their dreams and goals.

As you might expect from previous classes, the comfort zone is born out of mental conditioning, your mind set. Fear of change, fear of the unknown, insecurity, keep us inside. And eventually we stagnate, accepting our situation as if there was nothing we can do about it.

But there is. Here’s a fairly simple four-step process I’ve found to be very effective in tackling this stagnation, enabling people not only to step outside of their personal comfort zones but also to reach a point where they find those old behaviors unacceptable – and they never want to go back.

Identify

First all, you need to know where the boundaries are of the comfort zones you want to change. It’s not really that difficult to do. Mostly we already know them as the situations and circumstances we consciously try to avoid. But, just to be sure, spend some time imagining yourself in a situation where you’d really like to be. For example do you want to be able to mix well socially? Mentally put yourself there right now. How does it feel? Are you cringing a bit inside? Or how about being a stock market investor. Can you feel what it’s like to place some of your hard-earned money on a stock? Do you have the jitters? If so, then you’re outside your comfort zone.

Small steps

Some people are capable of just bursting through the boundaries of their comfort zone but for most of us the challenge is better met by taking small steps. Select a realistic, realizable situation where you feel modestly uncomfortable and actually put yourself in it. This could be something for instance like speaking in public – not a stadium full of people just a small gathering of friends or associates. Even if you can’t positively identify your boundaries, just think of something you do regularly – even eating, smoking or drinking (the sort of things from which some people think they derive comfort) and decide you’re going to do things differently from now. Experience proves that most of our fears or concerns are more imagined than real; so tell yourself that what has been holding you back is nothing more than a set beliefs, without any foundation. Just do it.

Repetition

The first time you move out of the comfort zone won’t necessarily be easy – that’s why most people never do it. But the fact that you are reading this is evidence enough to me that you do want to break out. And your reward is that the second time you repeat your chosen action it will be less painful. And the third, and so on. Eventually, you will discover that you are now comfortable with something that previously terrified you. It has become your new comfort zone and you never want to return to the old you!

Moving forward

Successful people share a number of common characteristics. One of them is that they never ‘stand still’. They are always looking for new opportunities and challenges, even if these lie outside of their personal comfort zones. The same must apply to you if you are to achieve the success you strive for. Now that you have extended the boundaries of your comfort zone, you must do so again – first within your ‘test’ situation and then with other new challenges you have identified. If you keep on doing this you will set up the mind set that makes you comfortable at the higher levels of activity and achievement.

The great thing is that once you are comfortable about feeling uncomfortable, so to speak, you will find you have the courage to apply this to pretty well any situation where you might previously have been held back.

Expelling your unfounded beliefs will provide the confidence and strength to move into new territory and with that comes the invisible attraction of success and wealth. When you exude confidence and determination, people and circumstances just behave differently – in your favor.
<div

Great speakers, teachers, philosophers, and books are available on audio and you can play them at your leisure. My best teachers have come to me through audiotapes. And the best thing is that it is just so convenient. Through audiotapes and CDs, my mentors show up on my schedule. I can listen in my car, on an airplane, in my office, or lying by the pool. I heard once that during our lifetime the amount of time spent in our car is the same amount of time it takes to earn the equivalent of four PhD programs.

You can use that windshield time to learn how to do almost anything: become rich, more successful, a better leader, or a more effective parent. You name it and I bet there is an audio program available on it. You can even learn how to lose weight by listening to audiotapes—although the best way to lose weight is to stop putting so much food in your mouth!

I have thousands of dollars invested in my audio library. It is one of my most prized possessions. I am convinced that my audio library has had a bigger influence on my life than any other educational source.

In fact, I have three degrees – but the time I have used listening to experts driving to and from university was more valuable to me than the degrees I earned!
<div

Mastery refers to continual self-improvement, mastery of oneself; being as financially successful as possible, building vast wealth; and assisting others less fortunate than oneself, being philanthropic.
The potent nature of mastery, success and charity are found in these three highly empowering character traits common to all

Millionaires:

#1 They LEARN… increasing their treasure house of knowledge through continual study and mastering life principles through self-advancement. They seek personal mastery.

#2 They EARN… being as financially successful as possible to have the wherewithal to make a constructive impact in this world. They are purpose driven.

#3 They RETURN… giving back to society and their fellow humans through charitable donations and benevolent deeds. They enjoy empowering others.

There is so much more to being wealthy than just being a person who amasses a million dollars and who is known simply as a millionaire. The accumulation of one million dollars, or more, is just a sign that a person (assuming it was done legitimately) is living their life by the high standards they impose impose themselves.

If you were to take one week and calculate your percentage for:

Time spent at work

Time spent with your family and friends

Time spent improving yourself (whether by taking a course or reading a book, etc.)

Time spent relaxing

Time spent sleeping

What would your ratio be? Would you say you had a balanced life?

To keep our credit in good standing, we need to ensure we keep an eye on the percentages of where our money is being allocated. If we don’t do this, we could end up with not being able to borrow money. The same principle applies to our time. Are we allocating our time in the right percentages? At times, it is difficult to keep a proper balance in our lives. But, over time, an improper balance will lead to problems such as:

too much time at work leads to burn out

too much time with family and friends can cause anxiety with your work

too much time improving yourself will leave little time to apply what you have learned

too much time relaxing can lead to issues with your work; and

too much time sleeping can cause all kinds of problems!

I could flip every one one of these points and comment instead on “not enough time”. But, I think you understand what I am driving at. It is balance; we need it. The sad part is that some people pay more attention to their credit than they do to their own balance in life!

Stop and assess your ratio.
Do you have a life balance?
<div
